MORE ABOUT US

Anna Whiteside, Principal Broker, moved to the Mad River Valley from Norwalk CT with her three children, Joe, Nina and Nick in 1963 and opened her first real estate office in 1964.  It was an easy sequence of events as her family had been in the real estate business in Faifield County since 1927.  "I fell in love with Vermont and have never regretted the move or my decision to make real estate my career.  I enjoy coming to work every day and meeting the many wonderful people that I have met through my business" says Anna.

Bruce A. Bertholon, Realtor®, a former Jersey Shore resident comes to VARE with a varied sales background.  For years he sold insurance to realtors, lawyers and other professionals in NJ, only to leave that profession to sell boats and run a yacht charter business in Maine.  After a brief retirement, he has re-entered the sales field this time in real estate.  "The Mad River Valley is one of the last truly remote, unspoiled and beautiful recreational areas left in the US that offers a variety of activities both in the winter and summer.  It is a wonderful place to work and play, or retire.  I am looking forward to helping people find their place here" says Bruce.  Bruce and his wife Fran reside in East Warren along with their dogs and horses.

Lynn Barnes, Personal Assistant to Anna Whiteside, is a newcomer to the Mad River Valley.  While vacationing in Warren on a whim, Lynn and her husband, Doug, realized that this is where they belong.  The beauty of the area and the friendliness of the people lured them away from their lives in Baltimore, Maryland.  They packed up some belongings, their dog, two cats, and 60,000 honeybees and moved to their ideal home in Waitsfield.
